The brilliant blue sky and bright sun tell a different story than the sleety "mist" and strong wind coming from the gorge at the Horseshoe Falls in Niagara, Ontario this morning. However, the slanted icicles on this lamp post, the mounds of snow in the nearly frozen river below, and the eerily encrusted "ice sculpture" trees in the area give evidence of the sustained bitter temperatures of this winter.
While art, whether it be drawing or painting or creating in clay, was my first love all through my younger years, after high school I went into a secretarial course at college. The following year I left school altogether, married and started my family. As a stay-at-home-Mom I found my creative outlet in crafts of all descriptions, and in cake decorating and the 'confectionery arts' which I also taught for more than 25 years from my home. Great capture, Peggy! This is really pretty and fits so well into the group, "Winter Wonderland". I would like to visit Niagara Falls in the winter since I enjoyed it so much in the spring. f/l
Peggy King replied:
Thanks for your kind comment, Janette! I am in the Niagara Falls area often and never tire of the views in any season, but winter certainly offers some extra effects.

Fantastic capture! Well spotted and photographed, Peggy. f/l
Peggy King replied:
Another lucky one, Ann!! I kept having to clean sleet off my camera lens and left without knowing if I actually had a decent shot of this. Roughly 15 frames were deleted but this one was worth the effort. Your comments (and the f/l) are so much appreciated my friend. :-)
