About Peggy King

While art, whether it be drawing or painting or creating in clay, was my first love all through my younger years, after high school I went into a secretarial course at college. The following year I left school altogether, married and started my family. As a stay-at-home-Mom I found my creative outlet in crafts of all descriptions, and in cake decorating and the 'confectionery arts' which I also taught for more than 25 years from my home. Many of my greatest friends today were introduced to me as they sat at my dining room table decades ago in those classes. About 2008, I set aside the icing bags and picked up the paint brushes again! At the same time I began taking pictures with the intent of using them as reference for future...

Rose of Sharon. Very nice Painting Peggy. I have them growing in the Tortoise compound. When they fall off they are gobbled up by my African Tortoises. But before that the Humming Birds get them. Recycle anyone! Thanks for the tail of the Black Widow. I captured the old girl and set her down on white cardboard for her photo session. The reason was to get the perspective right for the shadows falling from her shapely legs? Then i drew and painted her with Acrylics on Bristol Board. She now resides out back. She is now a beauty queen.

This is really gorgeous, Peggy. I have lots growing in my yard, but usually do not think of them as being as lovely as they really are.

Dear Peggy, Thanks so much for your understanding and endearing words. I'm glad that you do not think it was inappropriate for me to talk about my friend Betty Boyce, whose picture, Flowers on Fancy Table, is posted on my FAA site. You are right. I am already grieving. By the way, I still adore this picture: Rose of Sharon. I will return to your site often. anne

Your photography is wonderful & will make great reference material for you. The Rose of Sharon is gorgeous - so very well done. Reminds me of the Rose of Sharon trees that lined the whole length of our driveway in Connecticut - we had several this very same color. Thanks for sharing & bringing back some pleasant memories. :)
