What a beautiful capture peggy, rainbows are hard to photograph..v/f

Peggy King replied:

Thanks, Sharon! This one appeared just before an off ramp on the interstate, so that was the first stroke of luck, then to see a full arc was amazing! Only when I looked a the pictures on my computer later did I realize I had caught - faintly, but it's there - the second one! We took that as a good omen for the day.

Your comments are always so appreciated, Ann. Yes, thanks, I am thoroughly enjoying some one-to-one time with my Mom here in sunny south Florida. :-)

Artist's Description

This beautiful rainbow appeared in the western sky at the Virginia/North Carolina border on I-95 as the sun broke over the eastern horizon this morning. I had to stop and take pictures. It was not until I looked at the shots on my computer tonight that I discovered the camera caught what we could not see with our eyes until we were about 5 miles down the road ... a second rainbow above the first!

About Peggy King

Peggy King

While art, whether it be drawing or painting or creating in clay, was my first love all through my younger years, after high school I went into a secretarial course at college. The following year I left school altogether, married and started my family. As a stay-at-home-Mom I found my creative outlet in crafts of all descriptions, and in cake decorating and the 'confectionery arts' which I also taught for more than 25 years from my home. Many of my greatest friends today were introduced to me as they sat at my dining room table decades ago in those classes. About 2008, I set aside the icing bags and picked up the paint brushes again! At the same time I began taking pictures with the intent of using them as reference for future...
